A Wireless site survey, (also known as an RF site survey or wireless LAN survey) is the process of planning and designing a wireless network to provide a reliable and required wireless coverage, data rates, network capacity, and roaming capability.

BCI offers extremely efficient and comprehensive wireless site survey services for manufacturing plants, warehouses, hospitals, and many other larger facilities. BCI has conducted hundreds of successful wireless site surveys in the Chicago-land area and across the United States.  Our engineers are trained, certified, and equipped with the latest technology to efficiently and accurately conduct a thorough wireless site survey.

Why are Wireless Site Surveys Recommended?

Studies show that most wireless networks today are not optimally designed and installed, and therefor many networks are not delivering the intended service. Unlike a home environment, warehousing, manufacturing and healthcare facilities can have many factors that can disrupt a radio frequency signal and cause issues in wireless connectivity and performance. For larger facilities a wireless site survey is critical to ensure that the network is properly installed the first time and saves tremendously from potential down times and labor costs.

  • Ensure wireless connectivity and network capacity
  • Ensure that wireless networks are safe and secure
  • Ensure that wireless applications will run efficiently
  • Minimize total cost of wireless networks
  • Reduce down time
  • Improve worker productivity

Wireless Site Survey Services

One of BCI's trained and certified engineers will come on site to determine the precise number and location of RF Access Points/Ports needed to provide network coverage in predetermined areas at your facility. The Access Point/Port locations are documented in a detailed report. This comprehensive report provides detailed information including, existing and suggested system equipment, and cabling information. In addition, the document includes a series of CAD drawings and/or pictures showing a system overview and the coverage pattern for each Access Point/Port on the day of the wireless site survey.  Cable pin-out and Access Point/Port mounting drawings are also included when appropriate.
