How does RFID work?
• RFID technology uses a radio device (reader) to generate a Radio Frequency (RF) energy field.
• The RFID tags have circuitry in them to allow communication with the RFID reader
.
• The RFID tags are normally off (i.e., no current). When the RFID tags pass through an RF energy field, they feed off the RF energy field and turn on
• Once energized, the RFID tag circuitry is enabled and two-way communication can occur between the Reader and the Tags through the field.
• Data can then be passed to/from the RFID tags.
