Omnidirectional Antennas
An omnidirectional (omni) antenna is one which radiates power uniformly in all directions in one plane. When an omni antenna is placed vertically the radiation pattern spreads out horizontally and is doughnut shaped. So imagine a doughnut and the antenna is placed in the center of the doughnut and its height is the width of the dought, the actual doughnut represents the area and direction of the signal from the antenna. Therefore no signal is sent above or below the vertical antenna. Omni Antennas are good for open air installations. See Wikipedia for more information BCI can provide a wide variety of omnidirectional antennas for wireless applications. As there are many options for different needs we have selected a commonly used omni antenna to represent this category. 2.4 GHz 6 dBi Ceiling Omni AntennaThe antenna featured is a cylindrical form, high gain omni antenna, typical placed on the ceiling of a warehouse of manufacturing plant. The specifications for this model are attached at the bottom of this page. It is important to select the proper hardware for a wireless installation and a wireless site survey is highly recommended to ensure proper wireless coverage of a facility. A highly trained and experienced engineer is a valuable resource and will help to effectively and efficiently set up a wireless infrastructure for warehousing and manufacturing facilities. BCI has successfully installed wireless infrastructures in all 50 United States and other countries such as Mexico, Canada, Germany, and Ireland. |
